The Cotswolds

This week we have been cruising the beautiful Cotswolds.  We enjoyed our night at the farm, and had ducks come up to share our breakfast.

When we left the farm we travelled past Stanford Hall for a photo shoot, it was closed that day so had to settle for a picture from the entrance gates.

Then onto Warwick Castle, before setting up camp in Stratford-upon-Avon; Shakespeare territory.  We walked along the Avon into the town and as the day was so beautiful it was packed with people sunning themselves or rowing the river.

Next day, we carried onto what our guide book describes as the three most beautiful villages in Cotswold,  first Chipping Campden to view the wonderful arrary of wayward stone cottages, then to Stow-on-the-Wold to wander the town streets.  Would have liked to visit a tearoom, but we were still full from our breakfast – however that is now on our agenda for another day.

Our final stop was Moreton-in-Marsh where it was market Tuesday, we browsed the market buying a few goodies, then noticed the long queue at the Fish & Chip store, so lined up and got cod and chips for our lunch, which we ate sitting under a tree in the park.

Today we are planning to travel a whole 15.1km to a town called Bourton-on-the-Water.

The weather has been simply wonderful, nice sunny days, a gentle breeze and most importantly rain free.
