We loved our time in the Cotswolds, Bourton-on-the-water
lived up to its reputation and we camped at a farm camp again (they are so
good).
Thursday 6th September seen us heading for
Busfest, a VW Event in Malvern. As we
had travelled from the end of the world we
were graciously invited to arrive a day earlier than the general public, this
meant we got the most fantastic campsite. (We flew the NZ flag)
We camped with our American buddies, Larry & Loralee in
their Bay Kombi (Piolin) and Ludwig & Larissa from Germany in their late
Bay Kombi (& Michi).
The show was very different to the previous weekend’s VW
Action event, it seemed to be more about shopping (oh dear!). Trade stalls everywhere and choices…hmm…needless
to say Mildred is now very overloaded and it took Daryl hours to pack at the
show.
Here’s what Larissa dubbed ‘the King’s castle’ and it was fantastic for dropping all our
shopping in, but in the end even it needed to fit back inside poor Mildred.
And of course the vehicles.
The weather was fantastic, I believe over 4000 vans were in
attendance and we guess about 3997 dogs, as our camp seemed to be the only
non-dog camp.
Finally we said our last goodbyes, for this trip, to our USA
and Germany friends and we headed north towards Scotland. We are currently just south of Scarborough
and the beautiful English sunshine we have had for the last two weeks has
turned to drizzle.
So no more shopping for me and more travelling time.
